Back To Cameron Highlands Again

Like I said before this is the place in the country we love most. I especially coz it reminds me of England so much.

We arrived on Monday, 17th November 2008. I had an audit on TM for two days, so we spent two nights at Bala's chalet. The chalet is set up in such a way that all guests will feel like being in England. Everything is so English. The room, garden, dining, lounge except the toilets. Gosh.... they are wet.

While I was attending the audit, my wife took the kids around. In the evening, we were invited for dinner in Tanah Rata. I was actually reluctant to go but since TM's VP, and several GMs and AGMs were so keen to have me and my family joined them, I guessed okay. We had steam boat which was good especially in cool climate.

On Tuesday, I requested TM to take me to its Transmission Station in Tringkap, about 15 minutes from Tanah Rata and on the way back one of them suggested to take me to BOH Plantation. Well, why not and the view leading to the plantation was breathtaking.

I think we had a good time and insyaAllah we will be back.

We have been to Cameron Highlands a few times and that's because we really love that place. It reminds me of the time I had in the UK. We stayed at different hotels and I think the best so far is Equatorial. It is at the highest peak in Cameron Highlands. The hotel is very convenient where the market that sells fresh vegetables and other stuff is just less than 10 minutes walk.

There are plenty of places one can go but I reckon the one you don't want to miss is the Cameron Bharat Tea Shop. Here you can enjoy a cup of flavoured tea (strawberry, orange, blueberry, etc.) with scones while feeling the cool air and overlooking tea plantation. Magnificent view.

The rose garden is also good. Different types of roses with different colour. Man.....such a lovely atmosphere. Those who wish to buy souvenirs, I suggest you have to do some survey first as different outlets give you different prices and I think Tanah Rata is cheaper than Brinchang.

I really love this place and I am going again at the end of November.
